Strategy overview

The new UK Advanced Engineering international marketing strategy is designed to benefit all of the UK's Advanced Engineering sector.

Development of the strategy has been led by UK Trade & Investment and it's Advanced Engineering Sector Advisory Board, recognising that an increasingly competitive global market requires more coherent marketing of the UK sectoral strengths.

Launched during a global economic crisis the strategy is more relevant than ever. The UK Advanced Engineering sector combines excellence with creativity and much more. Its continued international success depends on targeting new markets, working with new partners around the world and continually demonstrating all that is great about the UK and our skills and expertise. The fundamental objective of the strategy is to change perceptions and promote positive views of UK Advanced Engineering. Crucially, Government, industry and academia must work together to deliver a more unified proposition and compelling message to showcase the UK Advanced Engineering sector.

This strategy is for everyone working in the sector or involved in its future. It gives a clear direction and plan of action to help focus collective efforts and achieve shared goals. A coordinated approach will improve marketing activity, help deliver the right messages at the right time and make the most of joint resources.
