Chris has a BSc (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering from Southampton University and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
He also qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Wright, Fitzsimons & Cameron Belfast (now Ernst & Young).
He spent 17 years with Short Brothers, initially in the Missile Systems Division as Financial Manager before moving on to be the Commercial Manager. After the acquisition by Bombardier in 1989, Chris was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the new Nacelle Systems Division. 50% of the Missile Systems Division (MSD) was then sold to Thomson CSF (now known as Thales Air Defence). He remained on the Board of MSD until leaving the employment of Bombardier, in 1997.
Chris then set up from a greenfield site and was MD of a GE/Nordam aerospace joint venture, this was an overhaul and repair business called Nordam Europe.
He has also been a member of the Review Board for Government contracts for five years, sits on
the Market Development Board, Civil Air transport Board and Aerospace Members Committee of the
Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) and is Chairman of Daher Aerospace Ltd, which is
active in the aerospace, nuclear and defence markets and also works with Pace Equity advising
companies on mergers and acquisitions.
