This section comprises trade associations with specialist sector interests relevant to advanced engineering and trade bodies with specific country interests.
Materials Handling Engineers Associations (MHEA)
MHEA was formed in 1938 to support the technical and commercial interests of UK and overseas companies supplying and using powder and bulk handling equipment. MHEA organises the only annual international ’BULK’ technical awareness seminar in the UK in addition to various seminars and training courses. Site visits are a key element of the benefits provided to enable Members to keep abreast of changes and trends in the sector. Employees of Corporate Member companies can qualify for professional designatory awards such as ‘MMHEA’.
Middle East Association (MEA)
The MEA is an independent non-profit making organisation established in 1961 for promoting trade and relations with the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Iran. The members of the Association cover all sectors of industry and commerce including; Banking, Finance and Consultancy, and are responsible for about 75% of all UK investment and trade with the region.
Motorsport Industry Association (MIA)
The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) is the world's leading trade association for the motorsport, performance engineering, services and tuning sectors. The MIA represents the specialised needs of this highly successful global industry as it undergoes continuing rapid development throughout the world.
The MIA has embraced an ever-expanding international network of business contracts, the result being that today it boasts nearly 400 Global members, whose companies transact more than £5 billion of motorsport business worldwide.
The MIA represents its members from motorsport, high performance engineering and tuning companies; race and rally teams; governing bodies; motorsport services; research organisations; race circuits; Universities and colleges - amongst many others.
MTA, The Manufacturing Technologies Association
MTA is the trade association representing companies who provide leading cutting edge technologies to engineering and manufacturing firms across the globe. Our members design, create and supply the major machinery, technology and equipment essential to enable the manufacture of everything from everyday items such as mobile phones, computers and family cars through to high-tech precision items like F1 racing cars, planes and space shuttles.
Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC)

The Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) is an independent non-profit making organisation with approximately 700 members, including more than 100 Norwegian and British companies. NBCC was founded in 1906 and welcomes companies and individuals from Norway, the UK and other countries, who wish to be part of the Norwegian-British business community. NBCC has played a significant role in supporting Norwegian-British trade relations for more than 100 years.
NBCC's mission is to promote trade and investment between Norway and the UK, and to provide a professional and social arena for business people. NBCC provides business and networking opportunities and encourages dialogue and exchange of experiences between members.
Printing Industry Confederation (PICON)
PICON is the leading industry trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers to the Printing, Papermaking and Paper Converting sectors. It is dedicated to providing support services and business advice to its members, a diverse range of organisations, from multi-nationals to SMEs, whose products provide solutions for all segments of the printing, papermaking and related markets.
Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA)
The PPMA is the UK's trade association for suppliers of processing and packaging machinery to the UK market and represents over 350 member companies.Its principle objective is to promote sales of machinery, both at home and abroad, through various projects and services of mutual benefit to both members and their customers by providing free technical and machinery information and advice.
Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC)
The Russo-British Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee that has worked to promote trade and cooperation between the UK and Russia since 1916, helping companies in both countries to find trading partners and representing the interests of its member companies of all sizes.
With offices in London, Moscow and St Petersburg, the modern-day Chamber provides up-to-date advice, research and market-entry support (to Russia and to UK) along with regular information through the website, weekly e-mail newsletter, the RBCC Observer, and monthly members' magazine, the RBCC Bulletin.
