This section comprises trade associations with specialist sector interests relevant to advanced engineering and trade bodies with specific country interests.

ABMEC

The Association exists to represent the designers, manufacturers and suppliers of mining equipment within the UK. The Association provides its members with a wide range of services and involvement with international mineral producers, government, regulatory bodies and the media.Some of the services it provides, specifically when representing the interests of the members to the Government are by their very nature difficult to quantify. Other services such as arranging exhibitions, missions and seminars etc and providing statistics are far more tangible.The range of ABMEC services varies and evolves in response to changing circumstances and the needs of the membership.

A|D|S is the trade body advancing UK AeroSpace, Defence and Security industries with Farnborough International Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary. A|D|S also encompasses the (BAG) British Aviation Group . It is formed from the merger of the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS), the Defence Manufacturers Association (DMA) and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC).

Together with its regional partners, A|D|S represents over 2,600 companies. A|D|S is also proud to support SC21, Sustainable Aviation, Defence Industries Council, RISC, Flying Matters, Defence Matters and a selection of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that can be found here

A|D|S also hosts the Aerospace Defence Knowledge Transfer Network and is a member of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe.

Birmingham Chamber of Commerce

The Birmingham and Solihull International Trade Team is linked into UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the government organisation promoting British business overseas. It is able to offer an extensive range of products and services, which are available though a network of embassies and consulates all over the world. Many of the services are either free of charge or are heavily subsidised, including overseas reports and contacts, market research, overseas visits, trade fairs and overseas publicity.

The British Metallurgical Plant Constructors' Association (BMPCA) is made up of companies involved in all aspects of metallurgical equipment from the design and supply of melting furnaces, rolling mills, process lines and inspections systems, to engineering services such as installation, consulting, maintenance and consumable equipment for the world's iron, steel and non-ferrous metal industries.
