Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA)
NWDA is a Regional Development Agency and its core purpose is to maximise the region’s competitiveness to build a stronger economy.
NWDA operates in Cheshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, and Merseyside.
NWDA regard competitiveness as the key to England’s Northwest economic success which is the essential element in the development of the region’s businesses, its people and its places.
NWDA works to maximise the region’s competitiveness, delivering effective responses to both short-term challenges and longer-term opportunities.
The Northwest is home to a number of internationally competitive knowledge-based sectors including:
• Advanced Flexible Materials
• Aerospace
• Automotive
• Manufacturing
NWDA invests heavily in key sectors to make sure they remain at the forefront of their industries. Our investment focuses on business growth, improving productivity and identifying future growth opportunities.
One North East (ONE)
One North East is the Regional Development Agency (RDA) covering North East England.
ONE works across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham, and the Tees Valley
The Agency is harnessing all the physical and human resources of the region, in both rural and urban communities, to:
• Accelerate economic development and regeneration
• Promote business growth and efficiency, boost investment and increase competitiveness
• Generate thousands of new jobs
• Develop the work skills of the people living here to meet the needs of a changing economy
The current key sector areas offered specific support (skills and product development, enhancing the supply chain and market penetration) include:

Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI)
SCDI is an independent membership network which strengthens Scotland's competitiveness by influencing Government policies to encourage sustainable economic prosperity. As an entirely independent organisation, SCDI’s membership network seeks to strengthen Scotland’s economic competitiveness and sustainable prosperity by influencing Government policy at all levels in Scotland, the UK, the European Union or globally.
Scottish Development International
SDI’s aim is to broaden Scotland's international appeal as a first choice source of knowledge and to assist the growth of the Scottish economy, by encouraging inward investment and helping Scottish-based companies develop international trade.
SDI provide a full package of overseas business services to help companies think globally and broaden Scotland’s appeal as they do so.
Scotland has key strengths in knowledge, high level skills, technology and innovation that can be exploited as Scottish companies look to explore new markets across the world. Our overseas business services facilitate the growth of Scotland’s economy by helping companies build on these strengths as they develop international trade.
To date around 1,500 leading global companies, including Amazon, 02, Dell, and Wyeth, have invested in Scotland.
South East Economic Development Agency (SEEDA)
SEEDA has one aim - to support the economic development of this world-class region.
SEEDA works across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, West Sussex, East Sussex, and the Isle of Wight.
SEEDA works at local, regional, national and international levels to attract inward investment, to help businesses reach their full potential and to win practical support from a range of partners. SEEDA brings funding into the region to help the economic growth of the South East.
The services aim to:
• strengthen international competitiveness
• support high-growth and innovation, and
• increase productivity.
The identified high growth sectors include advanced engineering, aerospace and defence.
SEEDA offers
• support to identify trade opportunities, supply chains and technologies
• advice, coaching and mentoring to fast-growing businesses
South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA)

The South West Regional Development Agency works for and promotes a modern, stronger and more resilient economy across South West England.
SWRDA works across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Dorset.
SWRDA’s work is all about creating better jobs, successful businesses, more prosperous cities, towns and villages within an economy that uses less carbon. South West England is home to innovative, forward-thinking businesses across a range of different sectors. SWRDA works hard to ensure that the region continues to be an attractive and sustainable base for all kinds of successful companies.
SWRDA has particular strengths in some sectors and is working with industry to ensure this continues. These include

Trade Yorkshire (TY)
TradeYorkshire is operated by UK Trade & Investment, in partnership with Yorkshire Forward. Our aim is to help Yorkshire and Humber businesses to succeed overseas. Although primarily geared towards export, we can also offer assistance to businesses and organisations considering inward investment into the region.
TY works across North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and the northern part of Lincolnshire.
