Marketing Communcations Builder

Welcome to the UKTI Advanced Engineering Marketing Communications Builder.

As with all elements of the international marketing strategy, the goal is to speak with a single voice that draws strength from being part of a coherent UK campaign. The communications builder will help you develop and deliver consistent communications that support your efforts to attract international trade and/or foreign direct investment. This tool has been designed to help you to quickly construct templated visuals of adverts, banners and exhibition posters with a combination of predefined (coherent UK) promotional messages and customised text of your choosing. It should help to inspire you to produce more creative, consistent and concise communications that you can use to target your customers as part of a joined-up UK Advanced Engineering sector.

Here’s how it works.

Before you get started, it’s important to be clear about who you want talk to, what you want to say and what you want the audience to think, feel and do as a result of your promotional message.

We’ve designed the tool to be as flexible as possible while helping you build consistent communications. You’ll initially be asked for your Company Name and the web address you want to appear in your promotion before allowing you to elect to include optional generic introductory text. Next up you’ll be asked to choose the Sector you want to target i.e. Aerospace, Automotive, Design Engineering, Advanced Materials or Advanced Manufacturing.

Once you’ve chosen your target Sector you will be prompted to choose one of five specific Qualities that can be used to promote your business i.e. your expertise and knowledge, your reliability, your innovation or approach to sustainability/ low carbon or the way you work in partnership with others. These qualities have been chosen, by industry stakeholders, as those that best demonstrate the strengths of UK Advanced Engineering

Having selected the sector you wish to target and the quality you want to reinforce, you have the option to support communications with a fact or series of facts that reinforce your overall message. We call these facts Proof Points and they can either be selected from predefined text or you have the option to enter your own facts to support your company message and products/services.

The final stage of the message process is the option to include a Call to Action. This is your opportunity to invite your target audience to contact you, visit your website, arrange a meeting or attend an event. Try to keep the Call to Action short and snappy and include a contact name, telephone number or email address.

Once you have finished the first screen on the Marketing Communications Builder you will have provided core information that you can work from, edit and change. When everything is filled out that you want, press the “Next Step” button and move on to create a visual of an advert, web banner or poster.
